Wooooo mountain biking! Pretty much my most favorite activity.

I went last weekend and had a “moment”. My front tire skipped over a slippery root and slid to an angle I was quite uncomfortable with. But those knobbies did their job, dug in, and I popped right back up. I am constantly amazed at the traction these tires can be capable of on things like mountain bikes, dirt bikes, and ATVs.

Top 5 for me. Snowboarding, two wheels no engine, two wheels with engine, and... other things... No specific order though, depends on my mood.

Went last night after work and one guy fell down a 15ft embankment, but he’s ok so it’s all good. I kept it pretty slow since I’m on an older hardtail and it was a very rocky trail. But yeah, it’s pretty amazing what they can do.

I agree. Can’t wait for snowboarding. Got my pass already! I really like motorcycles too, but there is just something so... pure?.. about bombing down a hill on something that weighs like 30 pounds

I hear you. But I can’t carve a canyon at the same speeds without a motor. And my first love is carving up the slopes, laid out, dragging hand.

I raced single track a bit in HS. Everyone else that showed up was a beanpole with crazy leg strength, had a bike that cost as much as my cars combined, and regularly practiced by riding 50+ miles a week.

I am fat, lazy, have a $200 used gary fischer, and only ride about 10 miles a week. Needless to say I lost a lot, by a lot, but I had an absolute blast doing it.

That’s awesome! Even if you lost. Fun is what matters! I’m always last or second last in the group I ride with, but nobody cares! It’s a blast. And I’m on a ten year old trek hard tail with cantilever brakes that cost me $3-400 new. Ain’t care. Is fun.
